On December 23, 2016, it was decided that a newly established U.S. investment group company would acquire the shares and assets of Mode Media Japan Corporation from Mode Media Inc. LLC, the asset management company established following the suspension of operations by Mode Media Corporation in the United States. As a result, Mode Media Japan will continue its business in Japan under its existing management structure.

　Mode Media Japan Corporation was established in 2008 as a joint venture with Dentsu Inc., Asatsu-DK Inc., Shogakukan Inc., Shueisha Inc., Nikkei Business Publications, Inc., and Mizuho Capital Co., Ltd. Following the suspension of operations by Mode Media Corporation in the United States, a major shareholder of Mode Media Japan Corporation, discussions had been underway regarding the shares and assets of Mode Media Japan. These shares and assets have now been acquired by a newly established U.S. investment group company, and Mode Media Japan will continue and expand its business in Japan.

　The acquisition of the shares and assets by the new U.S. investment group company will enable Mode Media Japan to continue its business operations, including providing products and services to 30 million active users in Japan, offering high-impact branded video and mobile advertising to existing advertisers and advertising agencies, and supporting leading creators and publishers in Japan.Yusuke Akiba, who served as the head of Mode Media Corporation’s Japanese subsidiary, will continue to lead Mode Media Japan.
